Alex spends his Mondays with his Gem'a and his Fridays with his Grandma. Gem'a just took this picture a few minutes ago, and I couldn't resist posting it. They are having a fun day in downtown Austin.

Rosedale Ride

Hi Malia,

This past weekend Mommy and Daddy biked in the Rosedale Ride, a ride in Austin to raise money for the Rosedale School, a school for kids with disabilities. Alex spent the morning with his best bud, Matthew and Matthew's Mom, Allyson.

It was really cold and windy, but we're glad we did it. Some of our friends biked with us, Richard, Jessica, and Sarah. Way to go guys!

1-year LID anniversary

Today marks our 1-year Log-in-Date (LID) anniversary. That means our Dossier was officially received by the Chinese government on March 4, 2008.

In February, the CCAA (China Center of Adoption Affairs) completed the matching process for families with dossiers registered through March 2, 2006. Great Wall Beijing has confirmed that the CCAA has completed the review of dossiers registered through March 31, 2007. The next referral group should be in early March; these families will have experienced a 36 month referral time frame.

Wedding Preparations

While we wait for you, Malia, we are busy with wedding preparations for your Aunt Kate and soon-to-be Uncle Don. I'm the matron-of-honor, so I get to do the bachelorette party planning and play a very supportive role for the bride. So far, we have a trail horseback ride planned followed by dinner in downtown Austin and Hot Tub/Champagne time at the downtown Sheraton. Uncle Nick is the best man and your daddy will be an usher. Aunt Rocka will be the signer-inner, big brother Alex & Don's nephew, Gerrick, will be ring bearers, and Brooke will be the flower girl. I hope you get to be a flower girl for your Uncle Gavin's wedding...when he gets married one day! I know you will be a beautiful flower girl.
