Where oh Where is our Travel Approval?

Just getting a little impatient. Come on TA!! Let's go!!

We are officially waiting for the Chinese government to issue travel approval so we can go get Malia and bring her home!!!

We've been getting the house ready. Grandma Amy came over yesterday to help arrange Malia's new and hand-me-down clothes and toys. Aunt Kate is making a quilt and diaper bag. Marc put together the new glider and foot stool from Uncle Gavin and Lesley (thanks for the super surprise guys!). We're busy nesting, but that TA needs to get here.

Timeline - things are happening now!

LID 3/4/2008 NSN (non-special needs) That's our Log-In-Date, when the Chinese Consulate received our dossier.

We filed our application for a Waiting Child 1/10/2011. That means we can access the list of children considered to have a special need.

LOI 3/27/2011 SN (special needs): That's the date we sent in our Letter of Intent for Malia. She is beautiful!

PA 3/31/2011: That's our Pre-Approval date. Woohoo!

LSC 4/11/2011: Letter Seeking Confirmation which is the Formal Approval. It's OFFICIAL!!

Our signed LSC was mailed to China on 4/15/2011 and delivered to the CCCWA on Monday, 4/18/2011. Then the CCCWA (China Center for Children's Welfare and Adoption) begins working with Malia's Provincial Civil Affairs office to issue our Travel Approval (TA).

TA 5/10/2011: China has granted the Travel Approval

CA given on 5/17/2011 for appointment on 6/8/2011: Congratulations! The American Consulate has confirmed your appointment for June 8th @ 8:30am

5/25/2011 Leave for China

5/30/2011 Gotcha Malia!

8/5/2011 Malia's first birthday! Big celebration!

9/9/2011 Malia's cleft lip surgery

12/21/2011 Malia's cleft palate surgery
